Fundamental principles

alt

AzQAC carries out social and humanitarian activities aimed at the needy without any discrimination based on citizenship, nationality, race, age, gender, religious belief, class or political views. AzQAC performs its activities on the basis of seven fundamental principles adopted by the "Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement":

Humanism
"Humanism" — means that the Movement values the principle of humanity above all else: respecting human dignity and helping people, preventing and alleviating human suffering, regardless of who they are and where they are, is necessary for the Movement;
Impartiality
"Impartiality" — non-discrimination is one of the most important aspects of human rights protection, humanitarian law and refugee law. No group is denied services or given preferential treatment based on anything other than their human needs. Only by acting impartially can the Movement secure the confidence of all men to help and protect them;
Neutrality
"Neutrality" — the movement must not take sides in its speech or actions at any time and place. Through neutrality, the Movement is able to secure the trust of all and provide humanitarian support to all. Embodying the principle of neutrality at all times ensures that the Movement provides medical aid to civilians and wounded or captured combatants during hostilities without being perceived as intervening in the conflict;
Independence
"Independence" — the principle of independence means that the Movement must resist any interference — whether political, ideological, or economic — that might distract it from embodying the principles of humanism, impartiality, and neutrality. Independence is not only between National Societies and States, but also between National Societies and religions, political parties, companies, etc. refers to relationships between any other form of power or influence;
Volunteering
"Voluntarism" — the principle of voluntary service expresses the common motivation that unites all those working within the Movement: the desire to help others is both a source of inspiration and an expression of solidarity. Members and volunteers are motivated not by a desire for financial gain, but by personal commitment and loyalty to a humanitarian cause;
Unity
"Unity" — having only one Red Cross or Red Crescent Society in any country ensures its effective functioning. This avoids any risk of confusion in the public mind and is understood as the representation of all people and communities by one organization;
Universality
"Universality" — the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is a universal, universal institution in which the whole Society has equal rights and is obliged to help one another.
